With this component you can offer an advertising marketplace on your Joomla 1.5 website. It contains a frontend and administration backend. Usage is very simple and easy understandable. Both frontend and backend comes with tabbed view and editing forms which grants a user-friendly and intuitive usage.

• Google Maps Plugin 

To show the Google Map or Route Planner, the component expects the Google Maps plugin installed and activated. The Google Map Plugin is not required to run the component itself. However, if it is missing, the Google Map will not be shown.

Important for the Google Maps Plugin

After having installed and activated the Google Maps Pluging, you may consider that it does not work anyway. In addition, you have to slightly modify the Joomla index file. The index.php can be found in your Joomla root directory.

Sliders

Some elements of the classifieds are shown in so called Sliders (sliding bars).

The mootools.js Javascript-file Version 1.1 and the CSS Stylesheet-file accordion.css is required to show the sliders correctly. Normally these files are parts of your Joomla 1.5 installation and do not need extra installing by the KISS Advertiser component. However, some components modify these files, so that we cannot rely on a proper function of the files on your system. In case of trouble with your KISS Advertiser's outlook, you may download the proper file versions below.

HINT: Installing mootools.js can lead to malfunction of other components which require other versions of this file. In this case install your previous mootools.js again.

Prior to each Installation: BACKUP your files!

The component installs sample categories and ads, deleting all previous ads in your database. If you want to keep your previous entries in the database, read our Backup Howto:

With the new version 1.5.30 (February 2010) you can manage the backup conveniently from the component's backend. Follow these steps:

• In the KISS Advertiser Control Panel click onto "Backup"
  
• Uninstall the old KISS Advertiser component.
  
• Install the new KISS Advertiser component.
  
• In the KISS Advertiser Control Panel click onto "Restore"
