KISS Problem in Akeeba Backup

The permissions looked good, but I went ahead and chmod to 777 then to 755. Everything seems to be running smoothly now.

This sometimes occurs when the directory rights are not correctly set upon creation.
Please try to chmod the /media/ksadvertiser directory to 755. (Maybe you first try to chmod to 777 and after that to 755).
Make sure you chmod it recursively in order to cover all subdirectory rights.
Ob ein Glas halb voll oder halb leer ist, ist mir egal. Hauptsache meine Zähne passen rein.

When I try to do a backup of my Joomla! site with Akeeba, I get these errors.

When I try to list any of these directories, I get a "Permission denied" error. Looking at the directories, none have any read permissions set. When I chmod to add a read permission then try to list the directory, I get

Is there something wrong here? How do I get a proper site backup that includes the ksadvertiser data?
